Not only telephone calls, but invoices in the mail - this time the source identified itself as "Publishers Distribution Services" - asking for $50.00 for renewal of Daily Word, for which the publishers price is $15.The "Notice of Renewal/new order" contained a mailing address, a PO Box in White City, OR with the above telephone number - note that area code 707 is located in northern central California (Napa area), not Oregon. The document I received has a tiny little disclaimer - "renewal offer - not a bill", probably to avoid some legal issues.  Several subscribers have already contacted the publisher of "Daily Word", Unity Village, and it is investigating.

If there EVER was a mass eradication of pestilence that would be widely excusable, it's with these shysters.  It would make headlines for a few days and the rest of the world would sleep better and longer for the effort.

These people are apparently without conscious... they have over 100 alias names. They operate out of a number of western states, mostly in Reno, White City and Medford, Oregon (where they are headquartered and known to a number of people here in the Rogue valley). How these scammers can sleep at night is beyond me.

My "bill" was from AMERICAN CONSUMER PUBLISHING ASSOCIATION for a magazine that I had not subscribed to for 8 years. I get this every year and sometimes I called to take my name off the mailing list so as to save them money - to no avail. My father, who died in 2010 also gets these things. A postal clerk told me she gets them for her mother who had died 10 years previously.I called, was put on hold by the answering system. After two minutes, I expected a ruse and hung up. Then I searched and found this site on the internet. The return address says White City OR. Yahoo search returns various cities for phone number.IAW various lawsuits, they are known by other names.

Yes I fell for this company.  I thought I was renewing Birds and Bloom magazine for 2 years.  I sent them $19.98 as an installment payment.  I am very distressed.  I've contacted the publishers of Birds and Bloom magazine Reiman Publishers and they said to contact these people.  Now how do you contact crooks?

I received a renewal request in the mail today for Bird Talk magazine that I have a subscription to that is good until 2014.  The price is 4 times what I paid originally. THE TOPPER IS.........the publisher has cancelled this magazine. After this month it is no longer in production.   I smell a rat.        The name of this company is supposedly ''''Publishers Billing Exchange''''  with the phone number 707-266-6673.

If Eric Holder had ANY balls, he'd take care of shyster operations like this fake magazine subscription ploy.  On the other hand, Eric Holder probably sits on the board of directors of this POS scam operation.

This is a SCAM.  My elderly father paid $249.95 thinking it was a subscription renewal for The Wall Street Journal.  He never did receive any papers from Publisher's Payment who calls themselves PBC, CBS or whatever call letters they choose for the day.  The Wall Street Journal did take care of it & gave him a year's free subscription (which was really only 6 months not counting his trouble.)  After all it was their subscriber lists that were somehow released.  He called 1-707-266-6673 & raised heck.  I called yesterday & was put on hold for 20 mins., hmm, I wonder why?  I also received the same notice renewal since we also subscribe to the WJS.  Their return address is PO BOX 2489, White City, OR 97503-0489.  The BBB also lists other aliases & addresses.

This phone number is a SCAM! They solicit for phony subcription renewals under many names. SBS is one. Do not give them anything in I'd or place of buisness, or cc or check. They are criminals under complaint to the Postal Inspectors and the Attorney Generals of several states. Contact the publisher if solicited. I almost sent them $249.95 for a half a year subscription to the WSJ. They currently are operating out of an address in White City, OR. Beware!

I live in WV and received a call from this number, 678-472-1316 , at 4 a.m. on 4-29-08.  Nobody said anything.  It scares you when you get a call @ that time of night!  When I looked for it online then there wasn't any info.  I just knew it came from Atlanta b/c of the area code.   I'd saved it and just googled it and found this page.   Glad to hear I wasn't the only one.
