It is a company that makes the fraud calls for B of A cards.  I updated my address yesterday so they were calling to verify that no one had stolen my cards or tried to change my address and intercept the new card. They didn't ask for any personal information other than the phone number they called to reach me.  They asked for an approximate balance on one bill and that was it.  NO personal info.  it's plain old card services, where you write your check to every month when paying your bill.

I just received this call, and called the number on the back of my card.  It is 100% legit.  They had a fraud alert on my card, and I had to verify some purchases.  Those crying fraud on this need to just shut up already because they have no clue what they're talking about.  If you get this call, contact your BoA.

I looked here for the same reasons after getting calls with no messages from this number.  In my case there was no problem with the account, but because of this thread I called them to ask.   It turned out BOA had called me from that number to question a charge that they suspected could be fraudulent, but it wasn't.  So yes this is a legitimate number.  Even so, in order to trust your responses they do ask you some security questions that aren't good to answer to any random caller, it's always better if you call them on a published number, then you know who's on the other end.

i got this call today and saw it might be bank of america..didn't answer but googled it....i checked my account online and saw there was a fraudulant charge on my visa so called thier fraud dept. number on the interent and had to dispute it...

Got three calls today, third call they left a message. I didn't trust it, so I called the 800 number on the back of my Bank of America Visa, and they did confirm that 302-731-1166 is the BofA fraud department. They were calling because two unusual charges were pending on my account, and it turns out $500 of fraudulent charges had been placed on my card. They had to cancel the card and send a new one. I will say that the 302 area code message and phone system seems shady; I didn't trust it, but if you get a call, you should definitely contact BofA through the 800 number on your card to make sure your account is okay.

These people called and I didn't answer, googled the number, so was curious and called back.  Just as written before, there message does not list a company.  I gave them my phone number, and she asked my name.  I wouldn't give it because , they should have it if they called me.  Said she saw three cards in question. She stated they did work for the big three Visa, MC annd Amex when I pressed why they didn't have a company name.  I called my bank, no problems, I accessed my accounts online, no problem.  This IS ASCAM!

This thread is hysterical. Bottom line is this is a real number. I don't condone ever giving personal info to a person that called you claiming to be a bank, but doing so if the person is calling from this number likely won't be an issue. I missed a call from this number and googled it immediately. I decided to check my online account since so many said it was the fraud dept. Turns out my account was locked due to unusual activity. Coincidence? I guess it's possible but it's much more likely this is a legit BOA call. My guess is that those who are being told this is a scam by BOA are speaking to customer service reps who are uninformed and just assuming that since they don't recognize the number it must not be legit. Still, it's probably best to tell the caller you will call back. It will take you more time but better safe than sorry. These people insisting that this is a scam are doing more harm than good because if you get a call from this number, you likely have a problem with your credit card and need to take action. Don't ignore because you think this is a scam.

Just got off the phone with BOA fraud and they know nothing about the # or the person the recording claims to be calling. It isn't me. New cell phone # so I thought maybe it was used by someone before I got it this past Dec. BOA says they have nothing on any of this.

I did not answer the 302-731-1166 call and they did not leave any message. I called the number on the back of my card and BofA verified that they did indeed try to reach me. There was a $1 pending charge from google which BofA said is often an attempt by someone to see if the card number is valid before they start running up charges. Since I never charge using google, my card number has been compromised and I will be getting a new one.

What should i do when I get these calls? Who do I report it to?ty
Report by Scrimm Long ago Unknown
Not a scam. Legit BoA. 02/29/12 I made the charge online, and they immediately sent the email and made 2 calls from this number. I called the 800 number and cleared it up. I know scams when I see them. Although asking you for numbers is very odd, always call the 800 number to verify if you don't want to give the numbers.

***  PLEASE READ THIS MESSAGE BEFORE YOU CALL BACK  ****** DO NOT GIVE ANYONE CALLING YOUR INFORMATION ***This is absolutely a classic phishing scam. All the signs are there and I have received confirmation from Bank of America that it is indeed one. What to look for: the callers left a voicemail on my phone. The call contained most of the red flags you'd expect in a scam message:1. An "ALERT" noise which sounds a bit like the Fox news broadcast or CNN broadcast alerts to create urgency.2. A reference to a card ending in 4299. None of my cards end in that code, but I'm sure many people getting this message would not check first.  3. A prerecorded message which, if you listen to carefully, seems choppy as if someone spliced it together from an official call.4. A request to call back *immediately* to a number not published on the bank's website. You'd think the bank would publish the number for verification purposes.5. A warning of a hold if the call isn't returned further creating urgency. Instructions are then given to call 866-559-0025 and enter in a pin number (to make it seem legit).6. The message then stresses to disregard any messages from Bank of America online or any text alerts received on your mobile phone. Which makes sense since the last thing the scammers want is for you to actually call the bank.7. I call the number which identifies itself as "card services". Umm hmm. Many banks do outsource service functions as posters have stated above, but due to the nature of financial information, the outsource company usually operates separate lines and identifies the financial institution they represent on a particular inbound or outbound call.8. . The first thing I hear is instructions to enter in a billing zip code without so much as an identification. I enter in a bogus code in another state and sail onto the next step. That was the clincher.I promptly hang up and call the Bank of America number on my card. The representative I get runs a quick sweep of my account and indicates no fraud alert has been issued. It's a fairly well done fake, and I feel bad for the people who posted "it's legit!" on this post, because they likely gave a scammer their card info, pin and personal info.  Hopefully this message will save you time, money and angst.

Got the call this morning.  They didn't leave the message.  Everyone says it's legit from BoA, so I simply called their customer service number on the back of the card.  Two charges were made (yesterday and today), and they thought they were funny.  Both were legit charges. The same thing happened with a different account at a different bank.  I had two online purchases they thought were suspicious, so they stopped them until they contacted me.  Again, both of those were legit, so they released the funds.I'm guessing that the person on the other end who couldn't speak English is probably working for BoA because of outsourcing.  That, or they mysteriously only staff their call centers with people of Indian or Pakistani origin.  But odd how they would steal my card number, run up plenty of suspicious charges (which were all legitimate), and then call me to get my credit card number which they already stole.  Why call to get a number that was already stolen in the first place? As for how funny it was that the call came on MLK day, when banks are closed that day - I'm pretty sure just about every bank is closed on Sunday, yet when I called the customer service number, I spoke to a person.  Could it be that, in this Internet age, banks hire people to man customer service numbers and other phones on - gasp - a Sunday or a holiday? Then again, what do I know?  Since I don't agree with Mila 100%, I must be a scam artist who is getting all sorts of kickbacks.  Bottom line, if you don't want to give the info to the number that called, then don't.  But at least contact the customer service number on the back of the card - odds are that something could potentially be wrong with the account.
Report by Justin Long ago Unknown
If a credit card company is legitimately calling you about fraudulent charges they will always leave a message saying as much and asking you to call your card issuer to resolve. They will never just hang up & keep calling until you answer!

Dude, seriously, you are 100% wrong. The number is the automated fraud detection system calling to let her know about the fraud. If you look at the back of your credit card you'll see that there isa  number starting with 302-73X-XXXXBofA is a HUGE company with 10s of thousands of phone numbers.  When a large company has that many numbers the phone company usually gives them those numbers in blocks.  In this case they appear to have all the 73X prefix phone numbers in the 302 area code.Their automated system uses specific numbers for outbound calling only.  Their inbound phone numbers are different because they are directed to a different system. As this woman said, her account was shut down completely when she tried to view it online.  That is because their automated fraud system caught some unusual activity and shut the card down, at the same time it attempted to contact the customer in order to have the customer identify charges as correct or fraudulent.

This is a legitimate number.  I got a call from this number this morning but I did not answer the phone.  After checking on the web, I called the number.  A guy answered the phone and requested me to give him my credit card number.  He said there is a suspected fraudulent activity.  I told him I have a few cards and I need to know which.  He won't released any information.  He asked me which card I had recently used and that payment failed.  I did use my BOA card to pay my ACCA membership in sterling pound just 10 minutes ago and it failed to go through.  Being cautious, I told him I will call my bank directly.  I called BOA # at the back of my card and true enough my card was temporarily blocked due to this payment made.  After clarifying that it was indeed a payment made by me, they released the block on my card.  I think they are doing a good job in preventing fraudulent activities.  I asked BOA regarding the first phone call and they said it was legitimate.

You are completely wrong, this number is used by their automatic fraud protection system. It’s a computer calling you to inform you about possible fraud activity. You will also receive at least one e-mail when receiving calls from this number. The reason this number is not listed and is not the same as the 1800 # on the back of the card is they don’t want you calling it back because it is just for the automated system. Almost every large company uses this process so stop telling people this is a FRAUD when it’s not. Please research your facts before giving advice that is totally wrong.

I am almost positive that this is a legit number. I got a call from this number that I missed on my cell phone. I also received an email claiming to be from BofA saying that there was potential fraudulent activity on my account, with an 800 number to call or a link to a fraud alert website. Being cautious, but not paranoid, I just went to my on-line account via the usual method, to find that it was blocked due to potential fraudulent charges, so I had to clear it. First I had to enter my account #, then there were a bunch of multiple choice questions that no one else would know the answers to, then they asked for the last 4 digits of my SSN, and finally they showed me all of my charges for the last three days and asked if they were all legit. They were, though some did seem a little odd, so I said "yes" and then the message said that my card was cleared. The odds of my getting a scam call, especially on my cell phone which has never happened before, and my account actually being blocked like that show that the call I received was from BofA.

I'm reposting this up here because these scam "artists" hired a bunch of monkeys (with terrible grammar and spelling skills if I may add...) to go on the front page and push back most of the comments indicating that this is a scam. Thus filling the front page with a bunch of BS about how it is a legitimate number....Get a call from these a-holes twice this morning. Didn't pick up because I never answer calls I don't recognize (especially if they don't leave a voicemail the first time) and I especially never answer calls from out of state I don't recognize because it's always a scam.Anyways, I looked up the number on here and confirmed my suspicions that it was a scam call. Interestingly enough, when I checked my BoA account, it had been closed because of suspicious fraudulent charges. The number for the fraudulent number ON THE ACTUAL BoA website does not match the number that called me. My guess is these jerk offs steal your card and make a lot of suspicious purchases making BoA instantly close your account because of their security settings. So just in case you are suspicious enough to check your account after they called you, you will see your account is closed and think the call is actually from Bank of America.SPOILER ALERT: IT NEVER IS. It never will be. A company will NEVER ever contact you for your personal information. DO NOT GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO AN INCOMING CALL/EMAIL EVER.I also love how they called me on f***ing Martin Luther King Jr. day so all the banks are closed. It's also another red flag.Don't listen to the other posts on this site claiming the number is legit. I have nothing to gain but they have everything to lose if you listen to the people claiming it's a scam. Only ever give out information after directly calling the company's line listed on your card.Your account may most likely be closed because these scammers know what they are doing. But please, do NOT think that because your account is closed when you received the call that it is legitimately BoA. Better safe than sorry. Hell, go to BoA directly. It's not just money scam artists will take they can destroy your credit score and impersonate you to the point where your name will forever be tarnished.

Today I've got a call from (302)731-1166. Since this # is not familar to me, so I checked it online. And saw your post there saying this # is from Bank of America Credit Card Fraudulent Service". I called the # and it was busy. Then I called the 800# Customer Service showing on the back of my credit card. As always, I was asked to enter my last four digits of my account number, which I did. Then I was asked to enter my social security number, which was very unsual and has never been done before, But I also did. Then the voice in the phone said that please enter "1" at any time if I couldn't recognize or were not familiar with the charges when they read all the charges on my credit account. I immdiatelly realized that it was not right right after the first charge was read to me. Then I entered "1", and was connected right away to the real person at the Customer Service. After they verified with me for my residential address and email address, and I told them the last purchase I used my credit card to make the payment. After a short while, I was told that they would close my current account and would issue new card to me within days. Although I am upset and frustrated about this instance, I  appreciate so much for the great job that Bank of America has done. I also want to say "go to the hell" to those nasty thieves.

I called BoA from a number found on their web site and found out that there was a suspicious charge on my account (which turned out to be legimite) that actuelly happened five minutes before the call. My wife had made an online purchase at that time. From what I can tell, this number was generated by the BoA fraud devision.

This is a real Bank Of America phone number.  In fact, if you look at the back of your credit card you'll see a phone number that has the same (302) 73X-XXX area code and prefix.  Bank of America is a HUGE company and probably has tens of thousands of assigned telephone numbers.  As a result they probably have the entire range of the 302 area code's 730 through 739 prefixes.  The phone number you received a call from is most likely one of their fraud detection robo callers.  If you aren't comfortable giving out your private information (which is entirely understandble) to an inbound caller you should just tell them "I'll call you guys back using the number on the back of the credit card."  It's that simple.

After going through the automated prompts to verify a charge, a computer generated voice stated a company I was not familiar with in which I was then connected to the female representative that spoke fluent English.  After verifying 3 most recent purchases, the last being of $1 charged today from Mexico which I did not make, the other 2 being charges I verified on my online Bof A access as ones I did incur or valid charges, they cancelled my card and informed me I will receive a new card.  To be safe, I called the number on the back of my credit card 5 minutes after hanging up with the representative that informed me my card would be cancelled and after following the prompts the automated system stating my account had been closed and thank you for calling.  This is a legitimate call and after reading this thread is what prompted me to call the credit card 800 number on the back of the card. I'm confident I was not victim of a fishing scam from this number but I understand in today's society why everyone needs to be hypervigilent against theives posing as legitimate business

You are sadly mistaken and obviously a 'chicken little' type.  Do your homework and you will find this 302-731-1166 number - is INDEED a legitimate number with legitimate reasons for calling you.  They just called me and I called the number on the back of my card and confirmed charges I had made the previous day.  Due to the fact that I had never used this card they (BandOfAMerica) became concerned and wanted me to verify the charges.DOING WHAT THEY SHOULD DO!!!!!! Again, this is NOT a FRAUD or SCAM!

This is not a fraud. This number is legitimate. I was in a dept store buying suits. The associate ran my card once and on the second transaction my MasterCard was declined. I started getting calls from this number within an hour. They just want to verify the charges. If you don't believe it then just call the 1800 number to resolve the situation. They will transfer you.

You are both very wrong and clearly have some try of grudge against BoA or are an unhappy customer. This number is used by their automatic fraud protection system. This site is here to inform people about the identity of a number not to spew your views or issues with said company.

Yesterday I got a call from Bank of America. "Card Service" was on my caller ID. They asked my personal information: SS number and card number. I didn’t give them this information.  I told I will call their main phone number to speak to their customer service and hung up. I then tried to access my online account but could not due to a "fraud alert". Have to call BOA to find out what happened.

Your are an idiot - Just got a call from them. Pressed 1 - put in my zip code (nothing private about that) - automated voice naming off various transactions that were ALL legit. Pressed 1 again to say "All valid trans" - then got a goodbye... never even got an operator and this is exactly how it happened about a year ago.

If i don't have BoA why would they be calling me from this number? I agree that it is potentially a fraud, seeing as I have never opened or tried to open an account with this company. I don't understand why i would get a call from them...
Report by ASDASD Long ago Unknown
You're retarded, this number is legitimate. The only thing they ask for is your zip code (my zip code?!?! oh no, i'm going to get phished for sure!), and they have MAGICAL information such as your last 3 purchases, company of purchase and amount of purchase. If these "scammers" already have that info you've already been had. Hint: they have that info because it's Bank of America. You're so dumb, the cops should arrest you for being legally handicapped but not registered as such.
Report by SK Long ago Unknown
Are you part of this scam Dexter? It is most certainly cons trying to get fools to disclose their CC#'s and personal info. Why would BoA call and ask for that stuff when they already have it. You suck Dexter, and I hope the cops have tracked down and arrested you by now.
Report by Rob Long ago Unknown

Report by Jennifer Long ago Unknown
This is in fact B of A calling. I was called by the number and picked up about fraudulent charge on my BofA account.

You are both very wrong and clearly have some try of grudge against BoA or are an unhappy customer. This number is used by their automatic fraud protection system. This site is here to inform people about the identity of a number not to spew your views or issues with said company.

LIES LIES LIES these people claiming the number is legitimate are full of lies (or confusion). This number does not match any of the numbers BofA has listed on their website or on my cards. PLEASE, for the sake of being safer than sorry, just call the bank directly from the number on the back of your card or their website. BETTER YET go to the bank in person. No company will EVER contact you asking you for your personal information.

Instead I just called the customer service # on the back of my card. It's a good thing I did call because there has been fraudulent charges to my credit card and I had to close the account!

You are correct. I called back the number since I missed the call, and it said "Thanks for calling Wal-greens reminder service", before I hung up. I am leary about such numbers, but after reading your statement here I tried it myself. Of course no big corporation will know all numbers from every state, and right up front they will tell you it is not theres' due to they do not want to thought of as someone harrassing them with phone calls. All you have to do is call back the number, AS I DID, and it does say wal-greens...sorry anyone not believing here, if you think it's a harrassing phone call, then you have already put your mind to what it is. If it is someone harrassing you, you do have several options too. Call the police make a report, call the phone company make a report, block the number if you can, or even call the number back to see who it is...I would hate to think that someone was after me and a lot of things were scams..

402-220-1100

124 Report Long ago Unknown
Maybe you've been scammed alot, most people have been scammed at least twice in their lives to varying degrees.  This IS Walgreens, it is a service, not a scam.  I just refilled my prescription that I am due to run out of soon (water retention during humid weather, no big deal, no street value type of medicine) using this automated service.  Yes, I had to enter my date of birth, but how did this recorded / automated voice know my first name and then asked for my date of birth to verify that I am me?  Does this 'scam app' just pull the correct, your correct, first name out of the air? After the verification, I was told that it was almost time to refill my prescription for (long funny sounding medical name), I entered the appropriate number to have this refilled for me.  Then, WOW!!!, this automated voice stated the Walgreens name AND the exact address of the Walgreens that I always use for my prescriptions.  Exact Address!  Now, realizing that computer/android/anytype of programming is ONLY as 'smart' as the person who programmed the code... I highly, let me restate that... I HIGHLY DOUBT that anyone who has in their 'information data base' my first name, date of birth and my phone number can get any deeply personal information.  They cannot get my SSN, my driver's license number, my mother's maiden name or the numbers off of my credit card or security number from the back of same said card. These are the items of information that one should NEVER give out over the phone or in public.  My husband declined to give the department of motor vehicles his SSN and he still received his license, albeit with an odd expression on the person who processed his forms when we moved to a another state.  More information is 'at risk' for stealing if you participate in online social networking media via computer or phone app.  A birth date, first name and phone number from Walgreens is not your threat.

Maybe soundbytes might be a good idea on this site? Since reporting a number to be legit doesn't mean a thing if it's used by someone with something as simple as the android apps out there allowing you to refect ANY phone number as your caller ID that you wish, then having a recording of the actual REAL call posted may help. Yeah, I'm sure someone could go as far as to dupe the voice too but having a sound byte attachment would greatly cut down the fraud... I would bet it would be at least as effective as this site is for posting legitimate numbers.

124 Report Long ago Unknown
Good point. Just got the call. Pressed one to confirm it was me. Then when asked to enter my date of birth, hung up. Wasn't particularly taking the posturing that this was a scam, however: I can call any of you, should I have your phone number and have (402) 220-1100 show up on your caller ID. There are so many Android programs that do this. SPOOF PRO is one of them. I did it as a gag to a friend, as we play jokes on each other, I think it was the "we have reason to believe you may have been in sexual contant with someone who has contracted a serius sexually transmitted disease" or something like that. I used the number to a very well known place owned by,..well you get the point. He called me up and was freaking out saying what had happened and who he thought it was, calling this girl every name in the book, until I couldn't contain myself and lost it laughing and told him, taking him out of his misery. My POINT is that it is UNWISE to submit any personal information to ANY automated service that you are NOT AWARE of. The "out of state comments" have NO MERIT. Almost every fortune 500 and thousands more use certain locations for these types of calls etc. It's a cost approach economical decision. To have a auto dialer located in each city across the nation, lol... However you can have an auto dialer reflect the area code of the person's city but there are legal implication on that with the Corporation Commissions of each state and Federal Trade Commission on a federal level. I believe it's because it's something that presents a false sense of location under pretenses that would be considered unethical business practice. Let's shift gears again and visit another point. How many times have you called an 800# or EVEN a local number and been transferred (often unkowingly) to a person with a heavy accent, such as your cell phone carrier? These are the ever growing outsourced calls to countries like India, Phillipines, etc. Again you may have dialed the prefix of (619) if you live in San Diego but routed to India. The problem is you CANNOT decipher whether a call from an unkown number and out of your calling area legitimate when you answer the phone for the first time to one of these types of calls. And you cannot decipher that it is Illegitimate either, not until you know....lol, sort of a paradox. My rule of thumb is that I NEVER offer any personal information to a computer that ID's itself as your bank, your pharmacy your anything. It's not an intelligent idea at all on Walgreens part assuming that it is legitimate because again RIGHT NOW I can call any of you and your caller ID will reflect that number because I put it in there. That's available to ANYONE who uses ANDROID....JUST IMAGINE! It's a great service I'm sure for those who don't write there schedules down, keep a daily log, appointment book, use their phone to remind them, their computer or ANYTHING WHATSOEVER to remind them of a refill.... Yeah great service. But it's missing a huge number of people who think about identity theft. I am NOT talking about the area code. I'm talking about a computer asking for your information. YOU CANNOT ASK IT ANY QUESTIONS, CAN YOU? YOU CAN ONLY HAVE BLIND FAITH AND GIVE IT YOUR PERSONAL INFO. BAD BAD IDEA WALGREENS. Even banks put out these emails/memo's telling you that they would not EVER ask you for you full social security number over the phone and other info too sometimes and inform you NEVER to answer to anyone asking for that because it would NOT be them. Walgreens should have media at the store on the wall advertising their reminder service at the very least. ........LOL but then again, I can be that computer and get your personal info very easily and so can any average person. IT'S A MONEY THING FOLKS. YOU INCUR HUGE COSTS TO HAVE REAL PEOPLE CALLING VS COMPUTERS. BUT YOU SHOULD NEVER GIVE PERSONAL INFO TO COMP0UTERIZED SYSTEMS THAT CALL YOU..... PERIOD. IF I HAVEN'T MADE MYSELF CLEAR: LAST TIME: AGAIN, IT'S BECAUSE I CAN BECOME (402) 220-1100 IN ABOUT 10 SECONDS AND CALL YOU IF I HAVE YOUR NUMBER OR KNOW ANYONE'S NUMBER THAT USES WALGREENS PHARMACY. Learned that trick off Android Marketplace. Imagine someone with a motive. IF YOU CAN'T ASK QUESTIONS, DON'T GIVE ANSWERS.

Who are you? a scammer?

402-220-1100

124 Report Long ago Unknown

Thank you so much for the information.  They're calling my cell phone.  No message.  I just tried to call and tell them to stop calling me.  Offices were closed and the electronic message sounded totally bogus.  Might to the website and see if I can 'unsubscribe' although I didn't subscribe in the first place.  These lists of data being sold are frightening.

under fed trade comm rules you have to ask them to stop calling then you can report the number to your states att. general if enough complaints come they can be banned from calling your state

hey everyone..even if you fill out job apps online and click the buttons saying you do not want to further your education at this time or always skip those 20million adds about the schools, they still get your info somehow. what it is is when you fill out job apps online, companies can sell your info to them and they still call you...try putting them on your block list and or tell them its a cell phone and they are not supose to be calling cell phones.

I didn't fill out an app, & they won't tell me how they get my information, so it is soliciting, I didn't ask for it. So what do you have to say to that?

I rarely get online and I never fill out anything online.  I prefer the old fashion way of looking things up or filling our applications and I still get them calling me.  The earliest at 3am, I work full time and go to school full time and don't need them screwing with my sleep when I didn't fill anything out online.  I don't even open emails unless I know they are from one of my friends so whats their excuse for calling me if it's our own fault for filling things out online?

Thankyou, I didn't think I was going to get to the end of this thread. I did not sign up for any on line schooling as I am already enrolled into a community college. I am receiving these calls too for some unknown reason. The only thing I know to do about any of these types of calls is to not answer them. I do understand the frustration of the phone ringing at all hours, but other than adding your phone # to the national do not call registry, well.....(even that doesn't last for long) there isn't much else to do. This is a rampant ongoing problem that has existed for about as long as certain big companies have  been selling our numbers to online spammers, and scammers.

Who cares that any of you have a degree!?Please – read and keep these threads in context to what they are about so people can readily find the answers they are seeking and keep the emotional worthless superfluous garbage to yourselves. This conversation thread clearly demonstrates how illiterate and whiny we have become: This is a thread about identifying unknown/unwanted calls and possibly remedying a situation of harassment calls NOT nanner-nanner, whine-whine, I have a degree and your education isn't as good as mine, etc. GROW UP!Start another thread in an appropriate forum, one that addresses this subject. I have visited several forums lately and have witnessed this phenomenon (aka whiner’s syndrome) in more and more forums. And for you yahoos that belittle either non-degreed or virtual degrees, as a consulting engineer, I have seen hundreds upon hundreds of arrogant worthless degreed piss-ants who don’t contribute to anything but being the problems to the bottom line, and a lot of non-degreed individuals who work hard and contribute to a profitable environment. There are, of course, many degreed individuals who are wonderful contributors.I apologize for going off on a tangent but the noise is becoming irritating.Thank you for the people who kept the threads on track – I now understand it must be AIU or UoP trying to persuade me to continue and getting more $ out of me.

University of Phoenix is not an online school.  The main campus is in Phoenix hence the name.  They have several satellite campuses for ADULTS that want to get an education while still working.  I graduated from UOP and believe me it is not as easy as you seem to think it is.  All classes are accelerated what it takes someone in traditional school to cover in 18 weeks, students at UOP have to cover in 5 weeks.  DeVry is also not an online school.  Several schools now offer distance learning, which is online classes.  Next time you want to open your mouth make sure your feet are washed.  Oh and for someone that does the hiring your spelling and grammar are atrocious.

805-204-0174

72 Report Long ago Unknown
Actually the University of Phoenix main campus in in Phoenix, Arizona. Several companies hire people with a degree from UofP.  The Federal Government allows pell grants to them.  Also they are accredited. Before you LAUGH at someone with a degree from one of these Universities do a little checking so they are not laughing at you for being such a moron

Wow. How closed minded and wrong you are. If you sincerely believe that you have issues and are missing out on hard working employees. University of Pheonix is no cake walk. You shoulnt be so "authoritarian", especially when you do not know what you're talking about. If you have an education you should know better than to pass judgement.

it is from an online degree company.  not a real school.  and no, online schools are NOT real schools.  its just a place to send your money and they will send you a piece of paper that says they got your money and across the top of the paper it will say "Online Degree from Fake University."  online degrees are a joke.  i am in charge of hiring people for my company and i laugh at people who come in with a drgree from DeVry or Phoenix or Virginia College (just because it "sounds" like a city or state, doesnt it is FROM that city or state.)

I keep getting these calls because someone named Kennith apparently (to the best of my reasoning ) filled out some online survey and put down the wrong number. That or I am using a prepaid phone and maybe I got his old number in any case this number is not his, I don't know him, and I never signed up for anything because I know these scams work like that. Quit putting your info out there, and there really should be some law protecting people like me from things like this, otherwise what keeps one of these "companies" from fabricating a number or worse picking a number looking it up, finding the name registered to it and harassing that person. Technically this isn't phishing, they're loading the catch on the hook, and shoving bait in our mouths. I for one will never make a payment to any company legit or otherwise over the phone and I hope whoever signs on as a telemarketer understands what their company may be doing. Some one is responsible and there must be some way to track it. We have laws for retarded reasons, why can we not enforce something like this?

If you want them to stop immediately, I suggest that you do these steps if they are calling your cell phone. 1 go into your call list and highlight that number. 2 send a text messege to that number stating you don't want them to call and not interested in their offer. Then you will receive a messege back that they received your messege and a thank you for using text to landline messege. I've just sent texts to 3 of them. Going to give it time to see if they're stupid enough to call back.

I just got a call from them.  The woman was very rude when I asked her to take me off her list.  I have an unusal name that most people can't pronounce correctly, so when she said it wrong I asked her what company she was with.  When she mumbled "online degree" I had to tell her three times I wasn't interested and wanted off the list.  She then got an attitude and said "don't contact us and we won't bother you" and hung up.  Screwy way to do business...
